The NYSE and Nasdaq are closed on Monday, Sept. 5, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Trading will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) recommends that the bond market be closed on Monday.
Looking ahead, stock markets will close at 1 p.m. Eastern on Nov. 24, the day after Thanksgiving. They will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26, in observance of Christmas, and on Jan. 2, 2017, in observance of New Year’s Day.
